LGBTQIA+MC

Our people, our pride

At MC, we move forward together and towards a world where we all have voice, expression, representation and space. A world where everyone respects each other, because understanding and dialogue come from respect. We embrace causes that defend a fairer, more balanced and more supportive society: that is why, during last Pride month, we launched a campaign to support the LGBTQIA+ community, bring forward our people as protagonists.

Promotion of Gender Equality

Gender equality is a priority in our diversity and inclusion strategy. There are 4 areas of action: I) employment and education; II) work-life balance III) social protection; and IV) visibility. Actions in 2020: Holding enlightenment sessions with experts on the topic of inequality in female leadership; Launch of two exclusive newsletters on the theme of diversity and inclusion; Promotion of the first gender equality campaign, "It's Woman's". The campaign aimed to break gender stereotypes, associating a message of strength and overcoming, mobilising the whole team.

We are Sonae

Project purpose/Scope: Support the team and their and families

The We're Sonae programme, created in 2013, supports our colleagues and families in times of greatest need. Ensuring their privacy, the programme is promoted by multidisciplinary and specialised teams of the Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa, which verifies all requests and, after an initial analysis, defines and implements the support plan.
