Thousands of MyLabel creams donated to healthcare professionals

More than 2,500 units of SOS MyLABEL repair cream are being distributed by Missão Continente to health professionals from several hospitals in Lisbon and Porto, for the essential hand care of those who continue on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19.

Pedro Hispano Hospital, Vila Nova de Gaia Hospital Center, São João Hospital, Santo António Hospital, Central Lisbon Hospital Center (which includes Dona Estefânia Hospital, Curry Cabral Hospital and São José Hospital, among others) and Prof. Dr. Fernando Fonseca Hospital are the units supported by this Missão Continente’s action, which, since the arrival of the new coronavirus in Portugal, has already responded to several requests for support, distributing thousands of food, hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) items to dozens of entities.

The donated creams, from the exclusive MyLABEL brand, are especially indicated for the immediate relief and intensive care of dry and cracked hands, composed of 98% of natural origin ingredients and enriched with vitamin E.

In addition to the requests that arrive because of the exceptional situation the country is experiencing, Missão Continente maintains the usual daily donations of surplus from its stores to more than 1,000 social solidarity and animal support institutions, from north to south of the continental territory and islands, contributing to minimize the needs of each institution.

In 2019, Missão Continente donated a total of 12.3 million in food surpluses, of which 8.5 million were delivered to 1,013 social solidarity and animal support institutions throughout the country and the rest distributed internally in the stores’ and warehouses’ social areas.

Food Distribution has been identified as a critical service by the Government and Sonae MC is aware of its responsibility towards the country, following the guidelines of the General Health Directorate and the Ministry of Economy, to continue to #Alimentar Portugal (Feed Portugal).
