Continente brings families together in a virtual football tournament

At a time when many Portuguese are at home, the national championship was interrupted and the kids (and adults) are more attached to the screens than ever before, the Portuguese Football Federation and Continente got together to return the joy of football and unite families in front of the Playstation with the "Continente Family Cup". A virtual and solidary tournament that takes place on the weekend of May 16th and 17th and whose winning family will receive a prize of € 1,000.

The FIFA 20 competition, the most well-known console football game in the world, will bring together Portuguese families that will compete with each other as well as with eight more families of well-known public figures such as Jimmy P, Chakall and David Carreira and former players of the national football team.

The seats available to participate in the tournament are limited. Registration opens today and, until May 13th, interested parties only have to comment on this post on the brand's Facebook page, with a family photo showing how to celebrate one of our National Team’s goal and using the hashtag #continentefamilycup and #jogaemcasa. The 24 participants with the most creative images will be selected to "enter the field" (hobby registration regulation available here).

The prize money for the Continente Family Cup’s winning family is € 1,000: € 500 in card and € 500 donated by Missão Continente to a charity of their choice. If one of the famous families wins the tournament, the prize will revert in full to their chosen institution. This is yet another brand action with the aim of helping Portugal to overcome the effects of Covid-19. The 2nd and 3rd places have a € 200 and € 300 prize, respectively, in card, as well as Portuguese Football Federation merchandising.

All information about the tournament, including regulations, is available on the Portuguese Football Federation’s eSPORTS platform. Streaming of the games, including the final, on May 17th, can be watched live on the Portuguese Football Federation’s YouTube channel.
