“Never Give Up” raised more than €630.000 and 150 tonnes of food

The “Nunca Desisitir” campaign, which mobilized the Portuguese in a solidarity wave, collected € 639.241,13 to feed families in need of support, in this national emergency context. ‘Missão Continente’ added to this donation 150 tonnes of food, that are already being distributed by the Portuguese Red Cross (PRC) and the Food Emergency Network.

Last week the first tonnes of food were delivered to the PRC’s Lisbon’s and Porto’s delegations. In the next few days, the 75 tonnes destined for the Food Emergency Network will be delivered.

Promoted by Missão Continente and the LAPS Foundation, the “Never Give Up” campaign brought together several public figures in a movement that gave prominence to the protective mask, a symbol of the moment that the country is going through and that has become familiar to the Portuguese in recent weeks.

The campaign, which had TVI as a media partner, NOS as a technological partner, Banco Santander as a financial partner and institutional support from the Portuguese Football Federation, was audited by PWC consultant, an independent external entity, as a guarantee of the process’s transparency and its reliability.

Since the beginning of the new Coronavirus pandemic in Portugal, Missão Continente continues to express its support, through several institutions, to the most vulnerable populations as well as to Health Professionals and Civil Protection Agents.
